Maybach Soft Top Limo

Maybach is a brand synonymous with stylish limousines. It is a name which recalls the traditional limousines which celebrities arrived in to awards ceremonies in the ‘50s and ‘60s, before all limousines had to scream for attention, ride at four feet off the ground and be a personal night club on wheels.

Well there is a new Maybach on the roads and while it has embraced one of the most head turning accessories of all, a soft top, it is still has all of the style and class of a traditional limousine. The Maybach Landaulet has been designed to be a chauffeur driven limousine and has a partial top over the rear seats.

The four door 2009 Maybach limousine debuted as a show car at the Dubai auto show and will go on sale in the US at the end of the year. The Vice President of program management for Maybach and the Mercedes-Benz S-class, Hans-Dieter Multhaupt has said that ‘The Landaulet is for a superrich individual who wants something that is extremely extraordinary’. After all that is the real reason we hire limousines isn’t it, to escape our everyday lives and enjoy something extra special.

The Maybach’s rear doors and side windows remain original, and the chauffeur’s compartment is covered by a non-removable hard top. It is also expected that many of the Maybach convertible limousines will also be fitted with a glass panel to separate the passengers from the chauffeur to complete the feeling of a true limousine.

While only being released in the US at this stage, the convertible Maybach limousine is sure to find its way to our shores sooner or later. However, until then, you can enjoy the ride in a different Maybach or Mercedes-Benz limousine, or in one of the more unique convertible limousines already in the UK.
